The yarn is highly insulating and can absorb up to 33% of its own weight in moisture without feeling damp. Lyocell is a fiber industrially produced from cellulose, i.e. natural raw materials. The fiber has an exceptionally smooth surface with a silky feel, warms almost as well as virgin sheep's wool, cools similar to linen and is more absorbent than cotton.
